Plum Sterile pH Neutralizing Emergency Products contain a sterile phosphate buffer solution that rapidly and effectively neutralizes even concentrated acids and alkalis. The neutralizing effect rapidly renders the acid/alkali harmless, unlike water which simply dilutes.

Documented Effect

Strong alkalis and acids can penetrate the cornea in as little as 45 seconds, permanently impairing vision. Rapid neutralization to return the eye´s normal pH-level back to 7.4 is therefore of vital importance. Laboratory-tested effects of Plum pH Neutralizing on a strong acid and a strong alkali are dramatic compared with the effect of an ordinary eye wash of 0.9% Sodium Chloride. Test results clearly show that the pH Neutralizing solution has neutralized both the acid and the alkali to a harmless pH in no more than 20 seconds. Irrigating the eye with ordinary eye wash merely dilutes the liquid, and Only minor changes in pH-value are achieved within the first critical 45 seconds.
